Bioeconomy is a wide concept including forestry, fisheries and aquatic environments, agriculture (food production), part of the chemical industry, part of construction (timber construction) and part of the energy industry (bio-based energy sources). Networking is one of the key factors in building competence across different branches of bioeconomy.<\/p>\n

As a collaboration between bioeconomy education and R&D activities, the existing local ecosystems have been identified as perfect operating platforms for the network. In Eastern Finland, ecosystems are Green Hub<\/a> in North Karelia and Bio- and circular economy cluster<\/a> in North Savo. Ecosystems aim for cooperation in research, business development and education. Joint competence development and training offer support the functioning of ecosystems and all parties benefit from joint communication.<\/p>\n
